Paperwork is My Life

Steve and I are neck deep in paperwork for our home study. They need multiple background checks, letters, physicals, TB tests, drug screens, identification certificates, our marriage certificate, my divorce decree, our insurance, finances, pet vaccinations, a questionnaire/ self study, etc. I’ve been plowing through all of it because I want to process to be as easy as possible. It’s crazy how there is. Not only do I have to have all of the originals of each piece of paperwork, I have to make at least 2 copies of each to keep on my end. It’s like I’m doing an odd and kind of complicated dance with Steve to cross all our T’s and dot all our I’s. It will be worth it, though. I just have to remember it. Luckily, I’m a teacher so I’m used to paperwork. (Hehe.)

Small Update: We have scheduled the first of three meetings with our home study case worker, Kelly. We will meet with her on the evening of August 2. Our 2nd meeting will be an one on one interview. Our 3rd and final meeting (hopefully) will be a home visit, which means I’ve started cleaning. (I really am, Mom!!) With any luck, we’ll be approved with our home study and move on to the hard part, being connected with our future child. All I hope is that we can be the best parents possible and make everyone, including the birth parents, proud.

PCOS Update: I had my yearly check-up, and all of my numbers looked good. The PCOS is leveled out for now. Yea!!

That’s it for now. There is hope in our parenthood dreams, and that makes us happy. For now, Steve and I just have to keep pushing forward.

Until next time, keep drinking the water.
